Synopsis/Details

A story of water, earth and blood

Celebrating 60 years of stewardship of the Canals d’Urgell by the Comunitat General de Regants.

Opera in the Veins is a musical journey along the waterways of western Catalonia, bringing to the stage—for the very first time—one of the greatest stories in the history of Catalonia and Europe: the Canals d’Urgell. A landmark engineering achievement of the 19th century, it transformed a barren landscape into life itself through water.

This stage and musical production is based on an adaptation of the book Aigua a les venes. Crònica d’un miracle català universal, created by its author, Francesc Canosa, with a script by Berta Lacruz.

The production features a multidisciplinary approach, blending music, dance, theatre, and audiovisual elements.
