Finally, Israel Fernández in our flamenco series De Cajón!, which he also inaugurates this year. The Toledo-born cantaor makes his debut at our festival with a proposal that will be a journey through his entire repertoire. An undisputed reference in today’s flamenco, faithful to tradition in his singing and compositions, Fernández develops a musical language that is both orthodox and uniquely evolved. Accompanied by Diego del Morao, one of the most influential guitarists today, the percussion of Ané Carrasco, and the clapping of Marcos Carpio and Pirulo, Fernández promises an exquisite journey through the compositions that have accompanied him throughout his career. "He has that something that nobody can define exactly, but that is essential and perhaps is called genius, perhaps virtuosity," wrote Gonzalo Gragera in the Diario de Sevilla. We couldn’t agree more, and we are going to experience it live at our festival. Finally.
